“Life is too fast sometimes…” explains Rowland regarding his photographic process. For him, the camera is a vehicle through which he can share discoveries and beauty from the everyday with an audience. His work explores the design language of the ordinary. He also takes interest in modern infrastructure built with driving in mind, as an avid motorist himself.
However, the natural world is not absent from Rowland's work, rather it works in tandem with the built to strengthen our understanding of both sides of our terrene. By bringing attention to these scenes, we are given the opportunity to investigate alongside the artist, creating an engaging co-operative adventure in this visual medium.
